Framatome continues its long-standing relationship with Automatic Switch Company (ASCO), including the supply of nuclear-grade NH90 series and commercial grade AH90 series ASCO Hydramotor® actuators and actuator parts kits. These Hydramotors have demonstrated field-proven performance for valve and damper control in nuclear power plants.
Our arrangement with ASCO makes Framatome the exclusive nuclear stocking distributor of parts kits. Plus, we are the only authorized ASCO Service Center for overhauling and repairing the NH90 and AH90 series actuators for the nuclear industry. In addition, we provide comprehensive technical product support in accordance with OEM specifications, including application engineering, parts stocking, rebuilding, and a preventative maintenance and storage program for just-in-time delivery of refurbished Hydramotors.

New Hydramotor Preventative Maintenance and Storage Program
In order to ensure the proactive planning, scheduling and coordination of Hydramotor units, Framatome’s Nuclear Parts Center is introducing the Hydramotor Preventative Maintenance and Storage Program.
For rebuilt units in the program, the NPC will provide quarterly maintenance and physical inspections by ANSI N45.2.6 qualified inspectors.
Major benefits of this program include the extension of unit shelf life to ten years from time of refurbishment, and the availability of expedited refurbished units for urgent requests within 24 hours, if needed.
This availability eliminates the hassle and worry associated with last minute emergencies, allowing you to avoid potential long-lead times and expediting fees.
The program allows you to increase on-site warehouse space while reducing on-site inventory costs and impact on resources.
Technical support is available as needed. In addition, the program includes on-site training for maintenance and engineering once per year at no charge.
NPC’s preventative maintenance and storage program includes:
- Full visual inspection for abnormalities and oil leakage including control and electrical cover removal
- Full functional testing
- Unit cycling, and maintenance per manufacturer recommendations
- Correct oil level verification
- Level B storage and inventory traceability
The Nuclear Parts Center ensures safety-related parts inventory meets applicable requirements of 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21 and NCA 3800. Located in Lynchburg, Va., the NPC is a NQA-1 Level B storage facility that is ISO 9001, 19443, 45001, 14001 and 18001 certified.
Documentation and Delivery:
- Framatome will supply a Quality Assurance Data Package, which includes a Certificate of Conformance (CoC) and PM report (log sheets) for each unit.
- Cleaning, packaging, and shipping meet ANSI N45.2.1, Class B and ANSI N45.2.2, Level B and ANSI/ASME NQA-1 1994, 2000, 2004 and the 2008 Edition with the 2011 Addenda.
Refurbishment to Originally-Qualified Condition
Our cost-effective refurbishment services include a full warranty on parts and services. We also restore Hydramotor units to a fully-qualified condition — enabling customers to increase efficiency by freeing valuable resources for other work. Our refurbishment facilities, combined with our spare parts supply, eliminate the hassle and worry associated with last minute emergencies. In addition, NUPIC member utilities audit and approve our 10CFR50 Appendix B QA Program.
Our Nuclear Parts Center stocks nuclear-grade part kits for all NH series actuators.
